Unilateral corectopia.
نویسنده
چکیده
CORECTOPIA is usually bilateral and symmetrical, the direction of the displacement being up and out (Duke-Elder, 1938). Unilateral cases are rare (Wilde, 1862; van Duyse, 1895). Ectopia lentis is a usual accompaniment, and other anomalies of uveal tissue may co-exist. This condition has a hereditary tendency as a recessive characteristic. Some of the cases reported have shown evidence of intra-uterine inflammation.

A 13-year-old boy presented with emesis, blurred vision, headache, and vertigo. He showed signs of a dorsal midbrain (Parinaud) syndrome (supranuclear upgaze palsy, convergence retraction nystagmus, Collier sign [lid retraction], pupillary light-near-dissociation)1 and eccentric displacement of the pupils (corectopia; figure 1 and figure e-1 on the Neurology Web site at www.neurology.org). متن کاملChanges in stereotyped central motor patterns controlling vocalization are induced by peripheral nerve injury.
Adult male zebra finches (Taeniopygia guttata), as closed-ended learners, normally crystallize their songs at 90 days of age, and the song remains fixed throughout life (Price, 1979). We show that injuring the tracheosyringeal nerve(s) (each of which innervates the ipsilateral half of the syrinx, the avian vocal organ) results in a short-term deficit in the syllables forming adult male song; th...
متن کاملRieger's anomaly: a 42-year follow-up.
Rieger (1935) described two patients with striking anomalies of iris and angle. Each patient had glaucoma associated with hypoplasia of the anterior leaf of the iris, corectopia, and pseudopolycoria. There were iris adhesions both to the posterior surface of the cornea and to posterior embryotoxon, together with mesodermal tissue in the angle (Rieger, 1935). Later a number of systemic abnormali...
